To receive a USGA handicap, you must belong to a Golf Club.
The USGA definition of a golf club is "an organization of at least 10 individual members that operate under bylaws with committees (including a Handicap Committee) to supervise golf activities, provide peer review, and maintain the integrity of the USGA Handicap System. Members must have a resonable and regular opportunity to play golf with each other."
The Seekers Golf Club is a club without real estate (no golf course) and is a fully recognized USGA golf club, with scheduled outing 1 Saturday per month. Many private and public courses can also track handicaps, and set their own rules.
Handicaps are based on the best 10 of the past 20 rounds posted. A minimum of 5 rounds must be posted to have an official handicap. After 5 rounds, handicaps are calculated based on:

If you would like more information about joining the Seekers Golf Club, e-mail seekersgc@yahoo.com or click on the link at the top of the page that says "Apply for Membership" to apply on-line. Annual cost for membership is currently $15, which pays for the handicap tracking by the GHIN network. This charge is passed along to the members without any additional income to the club.
